Casper Aviation Platoon Nose Art |
Helicopter Nose Art Various Photos of Casper Platoon Nose Art from 1965 to 1971 Military aircraft nose art has been an American tradition since WWII when a variety of colorful images appeared on the nose sections of military aircraft. This tradition has carried on through the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War and continues today. As you can see below, Casper the Friendly Ghost was painted on the nose of most of our helicopters in various styles, followed by the 173d Airborne Brigade insignia and finally the Hot Stuff chili pepper on the bubble of our early OH-13s.
